Alex Guilbert is a pianist, composer, sound designer and educator living and working in Seattle. Since earning his BA/BM in Jazz piano performance from the University of Washington back in 1994, his career has taken him in many directions, from performing with many of the finest Jazz musicians in the area, to teaching lessons and classes, to scoring video games and producing and implementing sound effects. In recent years, Alex has been focusing on studying and performing early Jazz-he’s become a mainstay of dance organizations and festivals in the Pacific Northwest, and gives workshops dedicated to the styles of the early masters. Alex also hosts and curates the popular “Piano Starts Here” series at the Royal Room.
